You are invited to join us for an action-packed weekend of combat!
This March, Doncaster Sambo & Wrestling are hosting an exclusive annual Combat Sambo camp, over the course of a weekend, for individuals of all abilities and experience.
Led and overseen by the club’s mixed martial arts school coaches’ Brian Lister and Ewan Lister, all participants will receive in-person practical masterclasses in the art of Combat Sambo, displaying correct techniques, combinations, and skill, to both defend and attack an opponent, throughout the course of the camp.
Under the instruction of two National BSF Master of Sport Coaches’, the Combat Camp hopes to serve as an opportunity for all participants, regardless of where they are in their journey; the tools and resources to learn, adapt, and grow, in the field of Combat Sambo!
With an impressive number of achievements, combined experience in the sport, Team GB representation, and having competed on regional, national, and international stages, this camp is the place to be, to learn, practise, and spar in Combat Sambo from two of the best here in the UK.
All participants who attend the full weekend can request to be graded in combat sambo by the coaches.
Weekend Itinerary
Friday 20 March: Evening sparring with other participants
Saturday 21 March: AM Seminar, Break for lunch, PM Seminar
Sunday 22 March: AM FIAS laws review with Q&A, PM Inter-club style matches with qualified referees, concluded with participant gradings, and participant certificate awards.

Common FAQ
Do I need to have all my own kit to participate?
It would be preferred if participants have their own Sambo shorts, Sambo mat shoes, and rashguard. Combat Sambo gloves, shinguards, and headguard will be required to participate, and these can be loaned on a first come first serve basis, or purchased prior to the event and collected on arrival. All kit can be purchased prior to the event. Please place orders early for kit to avoid late dispatches.
We would also recommend that participants bring and use a gumshield which is appropriate for combat sports.

What facilities are there at the venue?
There are separate male and female changing areas for juniors and adults.
Items left in the changing rooms are done so at the owner’s risk.
The gym has a toilet/sink area for students and staff.
There is seating available for parents, partners or friends, of participants.
Will there be refreshments at the venue?
There will be bottles of water, snacks, and hot drinks available to purchase from our reception team.
For visitors coming with participants we are located within a short walking distance of a convenience store and several food outlets.
Is card/cash accepted at the venue?
We accept cash and card/contactless payments.
There is also a cash machine within a short walking distance from our location.
Is there parking at the venue?
The venue doesn’t have its own allocated parking, however there is street parking directly outside the venue, and street parking on several side streets.
Is the location accessible by public transport and near hotel accommodation?
We are located within a 15 mins walk from Doncaster train/bus interchange. If you’re travelling to Doncaster for the event, there are several hotels within a short taxi drive to the venue.
Are refunds accepted?
Once a participant has paid for their entry, we won’t issue refunds in case of cancellation or non-attendance.

About Doncaster Sambo & Wrestling
Doncaster Sambo & Wrestling is a local, family-friendly mixed martial arts gym, for adults, teenagers, and infants. Our gym is the only place in South Yorkshire where classes are taught in Sport Sambo, Combat Sambo, and Wrestling. Our other classes include No-Gi, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Padwork, and Open Mat access. We offer group classes, as well as 1-1 training.
About the Combat Camp coaching team
The Combat Camp instructors are extremely qualified and coach at one of the highest levels in the sport. Both are accredited National Masters of Sport by the British Sambo Federation, which is the UK governing body for the sport of Sambo.
