The Yorkshire Bez Kurtka welcomes all and any martial arts disciplines and styles.
The event is a celebration of local, regional, and national talent, from athletes who get to showcase their skills on the mat, and compete for podium places, with medals, trophies, and belts to be fought for!
Saturday 13 December, 2025, at Hallcross Lower Academy Main Hall, Doncaster, UK.
Venue doors will open at 9am to competitors and spectators. The event aims to be complete by 5pm.
Competitors are very welcome from novice, to intermediate, to experienced, in Sport Sambo, and other areas of the sport, Wrestling, including Catch, Freestyle, Greco-roman, No-gi, Brazilian jiujitsu, judo, and other grappling martial arts.
Adult weight categories:
Male: 58kg, 64kg, 71kg, 79kg, 88kg, -98kg, +98kg
Female: 50 kg, 59 kg, 54 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg, -80 kg, +80 kg
Junior weight categories will be matched on the day based on information provided and weigh-ins.
Juniors are most commonly matched by age then weight, however under special circumstances this may change.
The event will also feature two ‘Absolute’ categories - one for -79kg, and one for +79kg.
Any attendees can enter this on the day of the event for a single entry fee of just £10.
Each match will be officiated to FIAS Sport Sambo rules:https://sambo.sport/en/fias/documents/.
No submission holds will be allowed for those aged 12 and under.
Competitor kit required:
Sambo shorts or grappling shorts
Skins/sport leggings (optional)
Rashguard or fitted long/short sleeved top
Sambo boots or bare feet
Mouth guard (optional)
Groin guard (optional)
Final registration for both adult and junior competitors closes 06/12/2025.
No further entries will be accepted after this date.
You must complete the Hybrid Entry Form when purchasing your ticket. Please check your email for entry confirmation.
Refunds will not be provided. Competitors may change their weight category up until the final registration date.
Spectators pay on the door at the venue.
