Yorkshire Combat Sambo Light Open - July 19th 2025
The Yorkshire Combat Sambo Light Open Championships for Adults and Juniors contested to Combat Sambo Light rules
Medals to be won for Podium places. This is an entry level competition, British Combat Sambo (full combat sambo) gold medallists need not apply.

Final Registration ends on 12th of July 2025
Spectators pay on the door.

You must complete the Hybrid Entry Form when purchasing your ticket. Please check your email for entry confirmation.
This competition will be held to Combat Sambo Light rules removing elbows and headbutts completely and removing knees to the head. ALL strikes to the head are removed for JUNIORS. Other than that, FIAS Combat Sambo rules will be followed.
No submission holds will be allowed for those aged under 12.

Normal Grappling / Wrestling clothing expected:
Shorts (Sambo Shorts preferred)
Grappling Jacket (Sambo Kurtka preferred)
Sambo Boots (Optional)
Mouthguard
Groin Guard
Shinpads
Amateur Style MMA Gloves 7oz (leniency will be allowed for Juniors due to only having strikes to the body and Uniform/Equipment restrictions)
GI Bottoms will not be allowed. Rashguards and Spats may be allowed at the discretion of the officials.
WRESTLING AND BOXING BOOTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED. SAMBO BOOTS OR BAREFOOT ONLY ARE ALLOWED
Junior Weight Categories will be matched on the day based on information provided and weigh in weights.
Juniors are most commonly matched by Age then Weight however under special circumstances this may change.
Adult Weight Categories will be as per standard Sambo weights.
Male 58kg, 64kg, 71kg, 79kg, 88kg, -98kg, +98kg
Female 50 kg, 59 kg, 54 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg, -80 kg, +80 kg
Weights may be merged in smaller categories.
Refunds will not be provided. You may change your category up until the final registration date.
